Beer Festival Heads to the Meadowlands

First-Ever International Beer Festival To Be Held at Meadowlands Expo Center-Feb 5

SECAUCUS, NJ. December 15, 2010 - The biggest names in international brewing will gather at the Meadowlands Exposition Center at Harmon Meadows in Secaucus, NJ on Saturday, February 5, 2011 for the Expos first-ever international beer festival. This international beer tasting extravaganza will showcase more than 50 breweries from across the globe, each providing samples of their country's proudest brewing achievement. Shoulder to shoulder with some of America's best breweries will be amazing beer from Scotland, Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, Poland, Colombia, Peru, and others.

The event offers beer enthusiasts a unique pay-one-price opportunity to try some foreign beers from foreign lands. "Based on the success of our International Great Beer Expos held in New York and Philadelphia, adding New Jersey was a natural addition to our beer event portfolio," said event producer, Andy Calimano of Starfish Junction Productions. "We have a great reputation in the craft beer and import markets. We help breweries and importers reach new customers and we offer beer lovers a fun opportunity to learn about and try new beers," he added.

In his recent Beverage Dynamics (March 2010) article titled "Import Status", Michael Sherer reports that image alone isn't enough to get consumers to trade up to imports. He states that
"brand traits like heritage, authenticity, unique ingredients, and taste can differentiate them and give consumers reasons to discover them." With the launch of this new International Great Beer Expo, "we hope to lead beer lovers from New Jersey on a fantastic trans-continental journey," added Mr. Calimano.

The International Great Beer Expo (www.GreatBeerExpo.com) will have two sessions: 12-4:00 pm and 5:30-9:00 pm. A limited number of tickets will be sold. Once the event sells out, no additional tickets will be available for purchase. Tickets are on sale now. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased at the event website www.GreatBeerExpo.com/Meadowlands. Tickets include admission to the Expo, admission to special beer seminars, a souvenir tasting glass, and the freedom to enjoy a 2 oz. sample of any of the beers present at the Expo. Designated driver tickets are also available for $10 each. No one, including designated drivers, under 21 will be admitted and photo ID is required for entry. The Meadowlands Exposition Center at Harmon Meadow is located at 355 Plaza Drive, Secaucus, New Jersey 07095.

This event will raise funds for the Beer For Brains Foundation, a national organization dedicated to bringing awareness of and offering hope to those afflicted with brain cancer. The event is sponsored in part by NJBeerEvents.com. The event is produced by Starfish Junction, co-producer of the Philly Craft Beer Fest (www.PhillyCraftBeerFest.com), named one of the "Top 10 Beer Festivals in America" by Forbes Traveler.
