2011 OMMEGANG LIMITED EDITION BEER RELEASE SCHEDULE
(Cooperstown, New York) For 2011 we offer this Limited Edition release schedule to keep everyone well-informed well. Let us know what you think, and remember to take frequent breaks from the demanding job of journalism to enjoy a fine beer.
Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence, 7% ABV, Belgian-Style Stout 1/6 bbl draft and 750 ML bottle. January-March 2011
Brewed with roasted, caramel and chocolate malts, and enhanced with authentic Belgian chocolate, Indulgence lives up to its name. It’s dark, malty, roasty, with clear notes of chocolate, yet finishes dry. Indulgence makes a fine after-dinner or dessert beer when paired with tart desserts. The newly released 2011 beer is refined to sublime levels of chocolaty, malty, and decadent indulgence.
Gnomegang, 9.4% ABV, Belgian-style Strong Blonde Ale 1/6 bbl draft and 750 ML bottle. April-June 2011
Gnomegang, 9.4% ABV, Belgian-style Strong Blonde Ale 1/6 bbl draft and 750 ML bottle. April-June 2011
Fermented with Chouffe yeast in primary fermentation. Filled with highly apparent clove aroma and flavor, followed by light caramel flavors with non-cloying candy sweetness. Fruit and citrus typically associated with Chouffe beers shines through. Oats and wheat in the mash help balance the body of the beer. The use of Chouffe yeast in primary fermentation is a house first for Ommegang, in an experiment to explore different yeast strains for their flavor and aroma potentials. Bottle conditioned with Ommegang yeast.
Q3 Tart beer, ABV tbd, Belgian-style ale 1/6 bbl draft and 750 ML bottle.
Q3 Tart beer, ABV tbd, Belgian-style ale 1/6 bbl draft and 750 ML bottle.
July-September 2011
This beer is still being created. It will probably have a simple blonde base, be fermented to 7-8% abv, and employ raspberry and pear. Brett and/or lactobacillus will make an appearance. The idea is a flavorful, aromatic, drinkable, moderately strong, fruit-enhanced ale. One that’s decidedly tart and/or funky and not at all sweet. The nine months in the works have been a joy.
Ommegang Adoration, 10% ABV, Belgian-style Strong Winter Ale 1/6 bbl draft and 750 ML bottle.
Ommegang Adoration, 10% ABV, Belgian-style Strong Winter Ale 1/6 bbl draft and 750 ML bottle.
October-November 2011
Adoration continues the glorious Belgian tradition of highly-spiced, high-alcohol special winter ales. Deep mahogany-red in color, brewed with a luxurious mixture of Belgian specialty malts and spices. Spiced with coriander, cardamom, mace, grains of paradise, and sweet orange peel; blessed with deep maltiness and substantial warming. A fine sipping beer, it will also stand up to dense, dark, sweet desserts. Enjoy it fireside, at winter celebrations, or to elevate any occasion. Adoration is suitable for cellaring for many years.

Ommegang BPA is pale. It’s ale. And it’s Belgian-style. We’ve combined the delicious aromas and flavors of Belgian-style ale with more hops than we’ve ever put in a beer. A well-balanced, ample, hop character defines the ale. It offers citrus and tropical fruit aromatics and flavors, full body and lush white pillowy head. BPA employs Ommegang’s Belgian yeast, five malts, two hops, and lots of patience to brew. Finishing touches include dry-hopping with Cascade hops. Pairs with lighter fare, salads and seafood, yet has the character and body to hold up to spicy foods, pizzas, burgers. Also a superb session-style draft beer. Delightfully easy to drink, yet always interesting and engaging. Legendary Ommegang character, quality and balance -- in a totally new Belgian-style Pale Ale.
