First-Ever International Beer Festival To Be Held at Meadowlands Expo Center-Feb 5
SECAUCUS, NJ. December 15, 2010 - The biggest names in international brewing will gather at the Meadowlands Exposition Center at Harmon Meadows in Secaucus, NJ on Saturday, February 5, 2011 for the Expos first-ever international beer festival. This international beer tasting extravaganza will showcase more than 50 breweries from across the globe, each providing samples of their country's proudest brewing achievement. Shoulder to shoulder with some of America's best breweries will be amazing beer from Scotland, Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, Poland, Colombia, Peru, and others.
The event offers beer enthusiasts a unique pay-one-price opportunity to try some foreign beers from foreign lands. "Based on the success of our International Great Beer Expos held in New York and Philadelphia, adding New Jersey was a natural addition to our beer event portfolio," said event producer, Andy Calimano of Starfish Junction Productions. "We have a great reputation in the craft beer and import markets. We help breweries and importers reach new customers and we offer beer lovers a fun opportunity to learn about and try new beers," he added.
In his recent Beverage Dynamics (March 2010) article titled "Import Status", Michael Sherer reports that image alone isn't enough to get consumers to trade up to imports. He states that
"brand traits like heritage, authenticity, unique ingredients, and taste can differentiate them and give consumers reasons to discover them." With the launch of this new International Great Beer Expo, "we hope to lead beer lovers from New Jersey on a fantastic trans-continental journey," added Mr. Calimano.
The International Great Beer Expo (www.GreatBeerExpo.com) will have two sessions: 12-4:00 pm and 5:30-9:00 pm. A limited number of tickets will be sold. Once the event sells out, no additional tickets will be available for purchase. Tickets are on sale now. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased at the event website www.GreatBeerExpo.com/Meadowlands. Tickets include admission to the Expo, admission to special beer seminars, a souvenir tasting glass, and the freedom to enjoy a 2 oz. sample of any of the beers present at the Expo. Designated driver tickets are also available for $10 each. No one, including designated drivers, under 21 will be admitted and photo ID is required for entry. The Meadowlands Exposition Center at Harmon Meadow is located at 355 Plaza Drive, Secaucus, New Jersey 07095.
The secure "CLICK AND PRINT" ticketing at the event website (www.GreatBeerExpo.com/Meadowlands) makes a ticket to this event a fantastic last-minute gift idea. This event will raise funds for the Beer For Brains Foundation, a national organization dedicated to bringing awareness of and offering hope to those afflicted with brain cancer. The event is sponsored in part by NJBeerEvents.com. The event is produced by Starfish Junction, co-producer of the Philly Craft Beer Fest (www.PhillyCraftBeerFest.com), named one of the "Top 10 Beer Festivals in America" by Forbes Traveler.

Ellicottville Releases New Winter Seasonal Beers
Ellicottville Brewing Company Makes Merry With Eclectic Mix of Seasonal Beers; Cherry, Vanilla and Sour Pear Just Some of the FlavorsEllicottville Brewing Company (EBC) is doing its part to contribute to the holiday cheer with an impressive line-up of seasonal beers including such flavors as cherry, vanilla, chocolate and sour pear
Ellicottville, NY (PRWEB) December 2, 2010
In the wake of the recent and always popular Ellicottville Beer and Wine Festival and just in time for Christmas, Ellicottville Brewing Company (EBC) is doing its part to contribute to the holiday cheer with an impressive line-up of seasonal beers. Beers that are available to be enjoyed onsite at either the Ellicottville or Fredonia EBC restaurants, or in take-out Growlers as a unique gift or holiday treat.
Two of EBC’s shining stars at the Beer and Wine Festival – both small batch oak aged brews are now available on tap. There’s the St. Jacob’s Oak Aged Stout 9.0% ABV which features hints of both vanilla and chocolate. And there’s the Bourbon Barrel Belgian Boozies Ale, a double-fermented 7.0% ABV ale with sour apple and oak tannin flavors, along with hints of banana and coriander.
Also on tap and only available during special beer festivals and at Valentines is the Chocolate Cherry Bomb, an 8.2% ABV beer brewed with real cherries. A nitrogen-fed beer, the Chocolate Cherry Bomb pours like a Guinness (only tastes better) and has an extremely smooth finish.
Lastly, and in true Christmas spirit, there’s the Winter Witte, a 5.8% wheat beer with spicy coriander, orange and citrus lemon grass notes. The Winter Witte is available not only on tap but in bottled six packs.
These seasonal beers round out a solid line up of perennial favorite beers, with both the Ellicottville and Fredonia restaurants offering a total of 16 different varieties of beer on tap.
“This year more than ever, I think we’ve come up with a line up of beers that showcase some of the more popular flavors people like to enjoy during the holiday season,” notes Head Brewer Dan Minner. “As you can tell, we aren’t afraid to try different flavor combinations in order to come up with a beer that’s truly unique. That also helps to explain why we get involved in such processes as double fermentation or fermenting beer in casks.”
About EBC
Now in its 16th year of operation, Ellicottville Brewing Company is inspired by the great microbreweries of Vail and the west coast and adds its own unique Victorian charm with its old mill setting and its large turn-of-the century solid walnut and granite bar. Not content to be viewed as just a ‘brew pub’, EBC strives to be a great restaurant with an equally great selection of beer brewed on premises. In addition to its Ellicottville restaurant, EBC opened a second restaurant in Fredonia, New York in 2005. Recently, in keeping with its spirit of giving customers more, EBC installed a new tap system in its Ellicottville restaurant, bringing the total number of micro-brewed beers served at any given time to 15. Currently, EBC bottled beer is available in 5 different states across the country.
